Visiting India for tourism, business or medical treatment? Depending on your nationality, you will apply either for an Indian e-Visa online or for a regular visa through the official application centre. Here is how to know which one you need.
e-Visa or regular visa?
- e-Visa: many nationalities can apply online for an e-Tourist, e-Business or e-Medical visa. It is usually the fastest option.
- Regular visa: some nationalities — including Pakistani nationals and people of Pakistani origin — cannot use the e-Visa and must apply for a regular visa.
- Indian origin? If you or your parents were Indian citizens, you may be eligible for an OCI card, which works as a lifelong visa.
